Tech Cert Services Ltd. was founded in 2012 to fill a gap in the specialist engineering inspection marketplace. We are one of the 1st Irish independent companies to provide this service and our priority is to provide professional, personal service and independent advice to our clients.
Our policy is to provide an impartial and independent service either directly or indirectly to the building owners/ employers and/or all those with a duty of care to the public and/or employees to assist them in ensuring they meet their legal requirements and that they are permanently audit ready as per the following pieces of legislation;
The Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. [Section 8(2)] which places a duty on persons who have control to any extent of a Place of Work to ensure that the means of access to and egress there from and any article provided for use are safe and without risk to health.
The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007. [S.I.No.299 of 2007] - Chapter 2 of Part 2: Use of Work Equipment
The Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. [Section 80] - under section 80 of SHWW Act 2005 i.e. a director, manager, other similar officer or any person who purports to act in the capacity of any of the above, can be held personally responsible where the doing of the acts which constituted an offence have been, authorised by him/her, consented to be him/her, is attributed to his/her connivance or is attributable to his/her neglect.
Who are we
Michael Duffy, BA (Hons), CTechEng, has worked in all aspects of the lift industry from 1988 to include senior management and directorship roles for 3 of the top 5 multi-national lift companies. His experience also includes workplace equipment including escalators and loading bay equipment.
Mark Wade, MSOE, MBES, brings industry specific practical experience combined with technical accreditations. His roles have included; lift and escalator commissioning engineer, electrical and mechanical trouble shooting and 4 years experience as an engineering surveyor carrying out insurance inspections of lifting and pressure plant for statutory and insurance purposes.
